Institute Programs

The Institute on Primary Resources conducts programs for K-12 teachers. Some of the programs the Institute has sponsored include a Summer Institute on Primary Resources, Advanced Institute on Primary Resources, and Academic-Year Inservices. This year the Institute hosted the workshop:

Primary Sources at Your Fingertips: Informing the Present,
Connecting to the Past, 2004

In this workshop, Karen Needles, an educational consultant, brought the National Archives and the Library of Congress to teachers. Participants had the opportunity to:

  • examine documents
  • investigate history
  • ask questions
  • search for answers
  • create reproduction documents that looked just like the real thing
