Collection Information: The collection of the Japanese American National Museum is unique. By far the largest of its kind in the country, the collection reflects the cultural adaptations and the diverse experiences of Japanese Americans from the mid-1800s to the present. The collection consists of more than 10,000 three-dimensional objects, primarily from the early settlement period through World War II, and more than 20,000 books, photographs, films, manuscripts, paintings, and drawings.
